I'm thinking about not going anymore. It just doesn't make sense for me to be there.
I don't know what topic to choose for this.

Add a commentIt's ok. Don't go. You can still be a good person without the church. You will be good if you want to be.
I draw power from my faith. My faith is in the inherant goodness of people and in myself.
It is guilt or fear of what they will think? If you are good you have nothing to feel guilty about. If they think less of you for following your own path, their faith is faulty.
At some point in your life you need to accept who you've come to be, not who you are expected to be. Once you do you will seek and find those who are compatible. Hopefully they will be your current family and friends. But if not, they will become those.
Accept who you are, and then you can accept others as you hope they will accept you.

I feel the same way, but about synagogue. I recently came to the conclusion that it was better for me to be spiritual on my own then to feel so very awkward sitting in temple each week.

why not find a different church/religion that fits better with what you do believe? You don't have to go to a church to be moral and good, but it is difficult to grow when you are alone on a spiritual journey. You learn from others. A GOOD church will provide that foundation.
