Striped tables are visual junk. They steal from emphasis that you could provide with shaded rows. Striped rows suggest something special about them, but they aren't special. Prisoners wear stripes so you see them. Why do you want to put your table in prison with the other ugly striped tables? Set it free: use lines between rows instead.
