Unlike a a simplified fear-based soundbite, cancer is a highly intricate and orchestrated healing mechanism of the body, which can be guided into a positive outcome, rather than further coaxed with toxic chemicals into a spiraling inflammatory illness. Tumors have elevated levels of detoxification enzymes, and are created to aid detoxification of toxin-burdened tissues and body systems - and even that is a simplification.
FUCK OVER-SIMPLIFICATION, AND THE PEOPLE/CORPORATIONS/GOVERNMENTS WHO USE IT NEFARIOUSLY.

Dear Anonymous,
Actually, I have had a case of melanoma, and have a 4-inch scar from a wide excision. Diagnosis of melanoma at a young age propelled me to earn a degree in molecular biology, pour over countless research articles and cancer concepts, personally contact high level cancer researchers (who've confirmed my ideas), and arrive at my present awareness that cancer is not something to be "fought", and that tumors are creations of the body that are part of a healing and protective mechanism.
If anything is to be "fought" or more specifically avoided and reduced, it's excessive exposure to exogenously and endogenously derived toxic compounds that induce and prolong most cancerous conditions.
You could also deem it effective to "battle" things like malnutrition, lack of physical activity and poor exercise.
But I prefer to use positive phrasing when referring to practices that contribute to a healthful existence.
